Herefordshire & Worcestershire provides the first opportunity for the West Midlands to welcome the Olympic Flame to our region as the Torch Relay passes through the two counties on the 24 and 25 May, arriving at Worcester Cricket Ground for a large, free public celebration event on the evening of the 24 May.

This is a great opportunity for people across this region to experience the excitement the Torch will undoubtedly generate and to have their own London 2012 experience. Not all of us have been fortunate to get tickets to the Games, but we all can witness and welcome the Olympic Torch as it passes through our region.
Herefordshire boasts some big London 2012 successes with potentially a Herefordshire based athlete taking part in every day of the Paralympic Games. The Royal National College for the Blind will be hosting warm up matches for Team GB's Blind Football Team and will also be hosting a Pre Games Training Camp prior to the Paralympics. During the summer of 2012 sports clubs across the county will be hosting 'View It and Do It' events encouraging local people to visit the club to watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games and also have a go at some activities themselves.
Both Worcestershire and Herefordshire have a huge range of London 2012 inspired programmes and events taking place over the coming months which you can get involved in. Worcester boasted 30 Community Games in 2011 and is hoping to stage more this year. It also is hosting the biggest dance project to have ever taken place in Worcestershire, '12 Moves', which will touch the lives of thousands of people. From community classes to outdoor events, '12 Moves' is getting Worcestershire dancing. Click here to find out more.
Herefordshire also has the community dance project ' HR1 ' and will be holding 'Glow' a spectacular dance event on 30th June 2012 on the Castle Green. To find out more you can visit www.hr1.2faceddance.co.uk.
