Coventry is immensely proud to be an Olympic Co-Host City for London 2012, hosting 12 matches of Olympic Football over eight days at the City of Coventry Football Stadium from 25 July to 9 August, including the Women's Bronze medal match. Coventry will also be the first English City to host Olympic competition on 25 July two days prior to the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on 27 July 2012.

During this time people across the region will be able to see some of the best footballers in the world and experience the excitement of visiting an Olympic venue right here in the West Midlands. In addition to welcoming world class footballers to the city, Coventry is also hosting an evening celebration event for the London 2012 Torch Relay on the 1 July and will be screening the London 2012 Games live on the 2012 Live Site in Millennium Place, only one of 22 cities across the UK to have been awarded a big screen for the Games.
Coventry and Warwickshire will also play host to some of the most exciting and creative cultural elements of the Cultural Olympiad this summer through Godiva Awakes and London 2012 Festival events of the World Shakespeare Festival and Coventry Cathedral’s Golden Jubilee commission from James MacMillan.
