On the 30th June the Olympic Torch will shine a spotlight across the whole of the Black Country as it passes through all 4 Local Authorities in the region - including a visit to the Black Country Living Museum, where it will travel by canal barge and tram.
In addition to the excitement of welcoming the Olympic Torch, the Black Country has a huge range of programmes running up to and during Games Time, which provide an opportunity for everyone in this region to have their own London 2012 experience.
A number of communities in the Black Country have already engaged with the incredibly popular Community Games programme, like the Community Fun Sports Day event in Halesowen, with many more planned to get involved this year. Projects around Dancing for the Games like Dance Routes, led by Punch, offer a fresh way to get people dancing in the Black Country. Focusing on hidden dance styles from the area and involving large numbers of participants from Black and Asian communities, Dance Routes is connecting with people in unusual ways. The project has already delivered a performance at The Public and will deliver another one at Victoria Park, Smethwick, during 2012.
